Fourth Grade

HOMEWORK

Any homework assigned will be due the next morning. If it is not turned in the next moring the student will recieve a zero for their grade.If the student has an emergency and can't do their homework they must bring a parent note to me!

SPELLING

We will cover one unit in Spelling every week. The students will have a weekly Spelling test every Friday.

READING

We will be doing a variety of things in our Reading classes this year. We will be reading from our basal reader, reading chapter books, and reading books for accelerated reader. We will go to the library each week to check out AR books for our AR program. They must read their books and take test over them. The students will be required to get a certain number of AR points each six weeks. If a student does not reach the number of points they are required to get then it will affect their grade by lowering it! It is very important that each student read their AR books each six weeks and earn their points.They are allowed to check out books on their reading level that are of interest to them! They will be allowed to read in class during any free time and also during DEAR time.A great time to read at home might be right before they go to bed- parents, you may read to your children also!!

ENGLISH & WRITING

We will be working on Narrative writing and Grammar. We will be writing several stories this year to prepare for the Taks Test.It is very important when your child has a story to write , that they complete the assignment so they do not get behind!!

I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO A GREAT YEAR!! WE ARE GOING TO DO ALOT OF FUN THINGS AND LEARN LOTS OF NEW STUFF!!!!!

		ALL ABOUT ME I have been teaching 14 years at etoile school. I currently live in Nacogdoches and I have a little girl named Karlie that will be in the first grade at Etoile. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my daughter and doing almost anything outdoors.
